LifeLines: Blavatsky Freud Experience is a unique theatrical production that combines drama, ritual, dance, and audiovisual elements to delve into the concept of creation in an era dominated by Cultural Intelligence Agencies. The story revolves around a stalled nativity scene where two time travelers, Madame Blavatsky and Sigmund Freud, share their origin stories rooted in theosophy and psychoanalysis. However, their narratives are interrupted by a conflicted mother-to-be amidst war, who channels them from her own struggles, spanning across dimensions, to free the Mother of New Age and Father of Psychoanalysis.
My original score was written for pre-recorded music and live violin. The music was spatialized in three dimensions and moved around the audience.
Scene 1 began with a mysterious build up into a persistent and intensely steady beat, surrounded by little chirps and pops that whirled around our head.
Scene three was build on the idea of an ascending descent. The music seems to rise and fall at the same time.
Scene 4 is a dance party. Very different from the others, it's raucous and fun!
