I was commissioned to write a 6 minute score that could play on loop for 8 hours a day and would serve as the music to the entrance pavilion for a exhibition on themed entertainment sound and music. The producer’s brief was that the music should be dynamic, future-forward, dramatic.
This piece was a delight to write – from the first piano sketch all the way to the final mix in the venue, it was a roller coaster of energy and forward motion! I think my producer said it best, when I sent him the first draft:
“It’s like Phillip Glass did booger sugar with John Adams in a Tomorrowland mens room.” – Mike Hooker
